Message: CaseyR, you may want a Programmer instead of a "chip". Programmers have way more function for near the same price as a chip.
Look at Superchips Tuner.

Message: I got a custom flash for my '00 before the superchips tuner came out. While I am pleased with it, I had to send the PCM to CA to have it flashed. When it was done, UPS sent it to Alaska by mistake, so it took a while to get it back. Fortunatly, a 4.7 truck without the factory alarm seems less finicky about running a PCM with a different VIN than the older 5.2 trucks. Mine ran fine on a boneyard PCM for that year while waiting. Since Superchips came out, more v8 guys seem to be going with that simpler alternative and it sounds like results may be close.
