I have the transgo shiftkit installed (professionally) and am not at all happy with it. Doesn't shift any better. At low speeds I have to shift it manually or it shutters and shakes the whole truck. It's definitely coming out this winter, I might try an SMR valve body instead. I should have learned my lesson years ago when I put one in my 98 5.9 Grand Cherokee. The transmission wouldn't even work after, I mailed the valve body to Transgo they told me I had a piece of SORBALL inside it(there was no SORBALL to be found in my shop), then never shipped it back to me. I had to buy another valve at a wrecking yard.
Just food for thought.

Did you also install the resistor in the fluid pressure circuit?
I did the Transgo install in my 04 4.7L 545-rfe and noticed a world of difference. Firmer shifts, etc.
