Subject: abs pump IP: Logged
Message: hi i have a 98 dakota with abs,im having a problem with the pump
not shutting off had to pull the fuse to get to stop has anyone had
this problem or anyone no whats going on, i heard that the rear
speed sensor could cause this ,any help would be appreciated.

Message: no i haven't checked them i have a ob2 code reader but it wont
read the abs controller, do you know how to check thee codes with
out using one of these scanners.

Message: hey daddio do you know of any relays associated with the abs
pump i have checked all of the sensors and got the same voltage
across the board,and cant get any codes the dealer wants big cash
to check it for me any info would be app.

might have to replace whole unit from a wrecking yard or just leave

Message: You may want to check the wiring to the sensors on the front wheels. Maybe the wires are chaffed and grounding causing the pump to run continously.
It could be just a bad sensor but don't know of a procedure to check them. Maybe a Haynes or Chilton's or Factory repair manual would have a wat to test them. Either that or pay a dealer to pull the codes.
