I have an 01, 4.7, manual, Quad cab.
I last cleaned my TB over 7 years ago when I ported my stock 68mm TB.
Now, with 148,000 miles, the TB still looked pretty good.
I cleaned it with carb cleaner, toothbrush, and removed the sensors, etc.
There was a great 'how to' on here somewhere about this procedure.
Anyways, it still idles smooth as silk.
It also has a little better initial throttle response. I attribute this to removing and replacing the same TPS after cleaning it. Probably changed the voltage some, like the TPS mod does.
