Hi i was wondering if i could get some advice on a little 318 build, its a 1996 out of a 4x4 dak. im going to rebuild it and while im at it i want to get a few more HP out of her its compleatly stock at the moment and the rest of the truck is in great shape, so im willing in invest 2000-3000$ and i have the ablility to do it myself so there will be no shop costs above that so any good ideas?

check out hughes engines, or you can supercharge or turbo it. my 318 only lasted to 13-14psi but was ok at 7psi or so.

i rebuilt a 98 5.2 a few years ago, what i did to it was have the heads machined to accept chevy higher rate valve springs, to go with 1.6 roller rockers and a comp better lift/duration cam, installed main studs and had crank line honed, along with ARP head bolts to hold it all toghther snug, also took a diegrinder to the heads and intake to port match and deburr and polish a tad, thing ran like a top till over the weekend i blew a heater hose and cooked the engine goin down the highway cuz my autometer temp guage needle fell off a while back.......
im now looking for a 360....
