Subject: 4.7L Spark Plugs
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi I have an 03 4.7 WJ and am looking to change the spark plugs. I bought NGK G-Power platinums (ZFR6FGP) but am now having second thoughts about putting them in because i keep hearing that the original champion coppers are the best bet. Should i return the NGK's and just get the stock champions? Thanks in advance for any input.

Thanks for the input guys... I've decided im taking them back to get the stock plugs as any other plug would be an experiment. Why pay more money when i've never heard a bad thing about the stock plugs.

NGK V-Power are the best I have run so far in my 03 4.7. I've used the stock Champions and the Autolite 5224's. I have a smoother idle, quicker starts and more responsive.

Just put in the stock champions yesterday and it now has a smooth idle, and it's more responsive. The V-power plugs probably work well also but you have to keep in mind 03 QC Sport that just changing the plugs to the brand new stock ones i noticed better acceleration/idle/etc. To tell whether or not they actually benefit you would have to replace the stock ones while they're still new but I'd bet that you would get no gain from it.

I've tried Autolite and and a few others and the Champs work the best. Don't remember if I've ever run the NGKs, don't think so.

The Champion Truck Plugs are a different plug than the standard Champion plugs.I know they look different and seem to perform better and longer.

I'm using the Halo's, and I'm very happy with them, they did give me better performance, faster starts, better throttle response. They are expensive, but I think they are worth it.
