Message: Sorry you are having such trouble finding it. Might just be less trouble to go to a dealer. Does the new tb linkage match the linkage connector on your existing cable? If it does you could just go ahead and install it with the cable you have and see how it runs and drives. I think some guys here have had success with that too. I personally think where you have problems is trying to add the ball studs to the linkage. You have to get it placed just right or it does not work.
When I was having such problems with my tb a couple of guys here emailed me some pics of what they had done to make their existing cables work. If you can send me an email at JamesN710@aol.com I'll forward their emails to you. That might help you. Another thing you could do is go to either a speed shop, an ignition/carburetor/electrical garage or a good independent parts store or Napa and see if they might have some type of fittings to make your cable work. My cable never would have worked because it was too short, and I guess they put that short one only on the manual. Yours is an auto so maybe it is long enough already. You might just find something that will work.
I don't know anything about the AIT mod and the code it is causing. I have not done any of those type mods, except for I put in a 180 degree thermostat and 3923's to stop a bad pinging I had. And I removed the rubber flap and enlarged the opening in the front of my stock air box to get more air flow.

Message: Hey I had some luck using an holly ball stud with a V8 TB earlier this week. I linked some pictures on Jimmy's other post.
But the ball stud kit wound up costing $12, so you may as well just by they correct throttle cable if you value your time. Wish I would have done that to start with. Ball stud is a PITA.
And for what it matters -- the V8 TB really didn't help the performance in my truck at all. I mean, it ran fine and everything, but there were no improvements at WOT.
Under light throttle, it <seems> faster, because the larger plates let more air through than the v6 TB did at that angle. But then if I open the plates all the way there are no gains, even at higher RPM. I'm not trying to race, but I wish it had more power to climb the mountains here, to hold the grades without downshifting so damn much. And 300 miles later the TB still hasn't helped there. Nice in town though, at least I don't have to press the pedal as far to get going.
