Im having a problem with my fan belt squealing relentlessly. A rebuilt engine was put in recently and my pullies were switched from underdrive pullies to stock. The tensioner and idler pully have been replaced and still the wailing persists. Any thoughts?

check algnment of all the pulleys. if one of them is out thats your problem. just look at the belt and pulleys from either side of the engine compartment and you'll see if they're in line or not.

Seen this alot before its the belt its self. Even if its brand new replace it. If u dont want the niose if not the belt will work fine. When they make belts they all dont come out correct. Replace the belt but make sure its not a bearing some where

I would take a good look at the part number on your belt? I'll bet they found a longer one to use with the underdrive pulleys and now the belt is just too long to keep proper tension. also check if anyone used any shims or the balancer is misaligned/seperated. let us know how u make out

It must have been the brand. My mechanic found a belt guaranteed not to squeek. There right.

i just replaced the power steering pump and pulley in my 00 4.7 and now my belt squeeks like hell, any info on whether its the pump or the belt, its the same belt and it didn't squeek before, just now after i took it off and replaced it. thanks
