It may be obvious, but I'm kinda confused as to what exactly the three above are and what there differences are. I think with roller rockers and Viper rockers, you can only use one or the other, but how about with cams? Which one would be the most price efficient (most bang for the buck)? And what would be avg price for each? If engine matters, I have a 98 3.9V6, with about 14xxxx mi.
Thanks, any info is greatly appreiciated

you dont want to use 1.7 ratio rocker arms
roller or standard with a larger cam

possible valve to piston clearance issues

if your on a low budget for mods
then the viper rockers are the way to go

have a larger budget
then 1.6 roller rockers and a larger cam
would show the most hp & trq. gains

does that help?

You can use 1.7 rockers (roller or not) with an aftermarket cam. It's just you need to advise the vendor that you're using 1.7 rockers so they can grind the lobes accordingly to avoid possible valve/piston clearance issues. I'm using 1.7 rockers on custom ground cam. IMO, a custom cam will give you the biggest band for your dollar. However, new valve springs will need to be installed as well. Good luck!
