Subject: Runners? IP: Logged
Message: Ive heard about gasket matching and cutting the runners back to gain hp, what does this entail? Ive done a head gasket on my truck so i know whats involved as far as that goes, but what is cutting back the runners anyway? How does it help? Thanks

Message: If you look on the inside of the manifold, it's a big empty space under the throttle body. The intake runners pick up their air flow from that space. By shortening the runner, you move the power band up higher.
When you look at the inside of the intake, it will be obvious to you.
