Subject: Shift Light IP: Logged
Message: I am trying to install a pro form shift light. I ran into problems installing it and decided to look it up. Turns out I need a tach adapter. Does anyone know how to connect everything once I get the adapter (like where the coil positive supply wire is located)??? How does the proform connect to the adapter, and the adapter connect to the truck basically?
Thanks
Jason

Message: True, True... I appreciate the post.
I have a 2001 Dakota 4.7. The shiftlight I have is the Adjustable RPM ProForm 67005SC. Upon further research, I have now ordered the Auto Meter #9117 Tach Adapter. I hope to get this in next week. How are these two installed to the ingnition switch, gound, and controller?

Message: not sure with the multi coils on the 4.7. the instructions should be pretty straight forward. probably have to use either the cam position sensor or the crank position sensor sine there is no distributor. sorry i couldn't be more help.

Message: Okay, I've got both the Auto Meter 9117 and the Shift light. Now I need to know where can I find the "positive 12V supply wire of the ignition coil". Where do I need to look, what color is the wire, I'm really struggling with this. I've attached the instructions here to help with understanding what I'm asking. Please help soon! Thanks!
