that was a few years back. banks pulled a cummins turbo diesel and placed it in the dakota.. a lot of fab work went into it.. everything from custom front air dam to the rear suspension.

that dakota pulled it's own trailer to the salt flats, swapped out the gears in it's quick-change rear, swapped out the injectors, and then broke several land speed records.

one badass piece of machinery.

No, I like the Banks Sidewinder, but I was talking about a 4.7 that I would just love to build. :)

Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.

intense-Didn't Banks do something with a 4.7 as well? Was it the sister truck to the GMC diesel that they are road racing? I can't remember.....Have to go to the Banks website and check it out. All I know is, that is one intelligentman, with a lot of highly intelligent people working for him!!

Didn't someone say they thought Paxton discontinued the 4.7 supercharger kit? KRC still has it listed and says it has been upgraded. Just in case anyone has the 6g's for it and is interested. Although, that would definitely bring a strong 4.7 to life!!

They still have the kits, so does socaldakota.com As far as the Banks goes they specialize in Diesels. I mean they do some gasoline engine performance products, but that is not their specialty.
