i've set up a race with my buddies 1998 toyota celica vs. my 1993 dodge dakota 3.9 2x4, do i have any chance of winning, any quick cheap speed improvements out there??

Is your truck an auto or standard same with the car? But would guess that celica will own u. Its a car and made to run alittle better then a 3.9 truck. It will come down to power to wieght in the end.
But if i was u i would race on 91octan gas and no more then a 1/3 in the tank. Plus make sure u have as little wieght in the truck as u can get

I got a 3.9 in one of my daks its a 98 and its a slug,i think a turtle passed me in the slow lane last week,try to talk him into seeing who can haul the most furniture in a quarter mile and ya got him!!!otherwise forget it.my camo 5.2 on the other hand has power-o-plenty.

hey guys thanks for the advice but originally i tought it was a 4 banger but i guess its a 6 which means that im going to get spanked, i think im going to barrow my grandpas dodge v10(318 with 2 extra cylinders) with that thing ill suck the headlights out of that celica

a v-10 is NOT a 318 with 2 extra cylinders
that would be a 6.5 Liter
the v-10 is an 8 liter
and the v-10s were only rated at like 310 hp and 400 tq
not all that impressive for the weight of the truck
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars
