Does any one have a picture of a four link or ladder bar setup in a Dakota. I have a 94 that Im building a 500hp 408 for & I just purchased a custom narrowed 8 3/4 and Iam trying to decide what to do with the rear suspesion to clear a 12" tire and hook hard.

- 4 Link
- Ladder Bar
- Move Leafs inboard frame rails w/ Caltracs
- Mopar Super Stock Leaf Springs

Any recommendations?

I have 36 inch ladder bars and coilovers on my 91. Give me your email address and I'll get you some pics this weekend. I first moved the leaf springs inboard but the leafs were too weak to support the truck(really leaned in cornering). I also (mini-tubbed) the truck and can fit 29.5/10.5W's on a 12 inch wide wheel. I finally got my truck to hook the 29.5/10.5's and ran a best 1/8th mile of 6.81 @ 103.71. The best et I could run with the leafs and Slide-o-link bars and 28/10.5's was 7.24 @ 96. What a difference traction makes.

Mike,

I would appreciate the pics and thanks for the advice. Hows the truck on the street with the ladder bars? I have heard with a ladder bar cornering becomes very difficult and that was why I was thinking a 4-link. Im not looking for it to be a daily driver but I still like to drive to all the local shows even some freeway but I really want to focus on traction.

On the street the ride is a little rough but really is no worse than the leafs springs with the traction bars. The biggest issue with mine on the street is that I run a spool so both rear tires turn exactly the same. Still not that big of a deal unless I have to make sharp turns like when parking. I've had a few street cars with ladder bars never a problem. I'll get you those pics this weekend.

I sent 2 pics Sunday night I will resend them when I get home this evening. I've been having some internet issues at home so they may be sitting in my outbox.
