and also...how heavy is this truck? around 4400lbs or so? i dont see how it could be heavier then that

Message: Your 2007 Tundra is a "full sized" truck with a 5.7 L V8. The
2000 Dakota is a "mid sized" trick with a 4.7.....hmmmmmmm...
I wonder how long it took you to make that calculation
Tundra???.
Go race against a Dodge Ram or a Ford F-150 or something.
Pretty much what you said was completely retarded and
pointless. Stick with your classification. But hey, you never
know, a Dodge Dakota may come up to you one day and suprise
the crap out of you and you will be the one left in the dust. Hey,
anything can happen. Didn't they teach you that in school? Or
did they just show you numbers and letters? Cause that's the
only thing you are presenting to us.
Go find a Toyota board or something and don't come here
wasting your time and show us your lack of maturity with others.
Thanks.

Message: I don't know about the speed. But you are correct about the weight.
I weighed my 1999 Club Cab 4x4 5.2 V8 and it came out to 4520 without me in it and that was with about 100 pounds of stuff in the bed. I don't remember how much gas was in it unfortunately though.

There's various opinions about K&N air filters,
(and other oiled foam type filters)
hold one up to a light and you will see bigger
'holes' than a regular paper filter, and that cant be too good, bigger holes = bigger particles getting thru.
Wanting more flow is one thing, (any gains by a K&N would be at higher RPM's)
but getting scuffed up cylinders/piston rings in return is not worth it.
(engine oil gets contaminated faster too)
some manufacturers (GM I think) have sent service notes that using a K&N will void warranty work on
MAF and other intake related sensors that might get contaminated by the oil contained in the filter.
"
All you've done is:
1. Make your exhaust louder
2. Make your engine more likely to be damaged by dirt geting through your air "filter"
3. make your throttle body and Idle Air Bypass Valve more likely to have dirt deposits stuck to them because of the oil from the "filter" getting pulled off from engine vacuum and collecting on those parts.
Do what this guy did:

Of course it isn't possible on the 4.7.
That foam surround around the filter is a good idea though. I've been meaning to get one from Summit.com.

Message: i know on the newer diesels good filtration is a MUST or you can trash the injectors
most of the guys on the diesel boards recomend AFE with PRO-GUARD 7
filters to like 10 microns or less, i cant remember the numbers but they seem to be a popular fav
and everyone gets the same response as the above post about K&N
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars

Message: ok, back on track then. With those mods, you're probably still running pretty close to what it was stock. The gears in your truck (3.55 or 3.92) would make a bigger difference than the mods you have chosen.
