When I crack the window going pretty fast, it sounds like a hurricane. I have a 2001 4.7 QC and the left rear rain guard came loose yesterday. I need to replace it or just take them all off. I have a high-end audio system so noise levels are definately an issue for me. Also, I am a smoker so I crack my window often. My question is: Does anyone else have this problem with rain guards on thier windows? Are Dakota's loud with the window cracked without rain guards? I bought this truck with the rain guards already on it, so I don't know what it's like without them.

My Dakota seemed to get much louder when I installed the rain guards. I installed them just to get some fresh air once in a while and now I never just "crack" to window because of the noise level.
My wife actually decided not to install them on her Explorer once she heard the noise mine were making.

actually, i am taking mine off as well because my rain guards back fire on me. i'm also a smoker, but if i crack the window above 45 mph, the wind curls around the rain guard and actually sucks water up the window where it proceeds to fly into the cab, usually hitting me on the side of the face. very annoying.

2003 Dak single cab got louder once I put the rain guards on. Also sucks water up from the side mirror and blows it in cab. I use mine mostly for airing out once I'm parked somewhere and just open the window for a butt.
