i saw one in a magazine that was dealer modified. had rt heads, m1, and a few other bolt ons. im not sure if there were any ever sold that way though.

There is no special modified R/T out there(from the factory that is). I wish they would have done it to my 03 R/T but they never did that to ANY Dakota.

In '03, one of the magazines (I think it was Sport Truck) tested a '03 R/T like 2002 R/T mentioned, which featured a package from Mopar Performance with heads, cam, intake, etc. The article was vague as to if the package was dealer installed or a factory option. If it was dealer installed, it would have had one heck of a labor charge. I think the magazine truck was a "ringer" for the media to flog to sell more parts. The curious thing was the timing. The magazine hit the newsstands just as the final '03 5.9 R/T's were on the assembly line. If there was a rare 2003 R/T, it was one with the Stampede ground effects option. I haven't seen one myself, yet.
