Message: Snake Oil.
"Sucker born every minute" type of product.
Or in a nicer way, there's a MARKET for the product as people want MORE power. But it doesn't work.
Simular thing to those household air cleaners, Sharper Image's Ionic Breeze"
They sell like hotcakes. I see them in customer's homes all of the time. Why? Because people want better air quality in their homes.
However, they test really poor! REALLY POOR. They only move 10 CFM so they can't clean a room, yet alone an entire home.
Maybe some of you will be saying "WTF are you talking about???"
I thought it would be a clear comparison since most likely everyone would have heard of those and I have seen what they do in tests compared to HVAC air cleaners. But they sell sell sell because people are so desperate for something to do what it CLAIMS to do. Same reason the throttle body spacers and TURBULATOR Throttle Body "inserts" keep selling and making a profit from USELESS JUNK!

Message: Spacers have shown effectiveness, especially in addressing an OEM intake shortcoming....now read carefully......WITH CARBURETED APPLICATIONS. Typically, the spacer would help smooth out the mixture of fuel/air after passing through the carb, which reduced turbulent airflow and thus, reduced fuel dropout. The performance peak of a CARBURETED engine can be tweaked (up or down by around 1000-1500rpm) by the use of a spacer. Note, this can also be useful with the early fuel injection units that are essentially electronic carburetors like those used on late 80's Dakotas. The spacers are absolutely useless on multi-point fuel injection units as seen with the Magnum units.

Message: He's right about the spacers being effective on carburated motors,
but it also depens on the intake manifold you have. In certain
setups they can help. They claim to make power by adding "spin"
to the air and more effectively getting it to the chamber. The stock
magnum intake manifolds do not have a direct path to the heads
like the M1 so any "spin" would be lost. However, its up to you if
its worth a shot, you never know exactly what will happen. If you
decide you want one, I'll give you mine for $30, just email me.
