2001 dakota r/t with 46re 4 speed auto,totally rebuilt trans but from stop with gear selector in Drive some times starts off in third gear and at other times first gear like it supposed to do ?trans repair shop says it needs a new cumputer or brain box but i think the shop owner is full of it..any tips?

Ha, same problem my 98 has and I got a new trans on ebay for $595. Mine has 163,000 miles on it. I was told it's just wore out, valve body sticking. I changed the govenor pressure solenoid last year but the problem still exists so this is the only other option for me although the code now says the computer is at fault.
