Subject: Question for Mat IP: Logged
Message: Mat I am gearing up to do a timed run this Friday. Do you have any pointers.
Do I remove the spare for weight or keep it for traction?
Tail gate up,removed or closed?
I will run on a 1/4 tank.
I am hoping for mid 14's with this set up.
The truck. 2001 R.C 4.7 5 speed 3.92's LS.
Mod's
Cold air intake.
3" Catback
180 T-stat
Electric only fan. Great mod BTW really feel it!!

Yes, dump the tire, and the tail gate. Easy on the launch, 1200 rpms MAX, maybe less, shift at 5000. 4th gear through the traps.
Practice,Practice, Practice, it will improve your times more than any bolt on!!
