wow, you'll definately need slicks, im not sure the truck will ever hook up with it being such a light truck, especially in the back end.

since you are doing a genI/II, there's a company that has bolt in engine mounts, tranny mount, oil pan and even headers (sometimes) for that swap.

i had a 400 in my genIII and it didnt do as bad as you'd think with traction. Now i just dropped my 440 in this past weekend and we'll find out how it is after x-mas.

they were both very fun, but the 400 had a lot more bottom end.

i got rid of the turbo stuff because my wife had wrecked her car
and needed to be able to drive my truck, safely.

i got the 400 after we purchased another vehicle.

Yup, its a "B" engine, like the 383, but with a bigger bore. Its what the "B" engine grew to at the end of its run in the '70's. A 440 is an example of an "RB" engine (raised B) as it is a taller block. the 400 was a low compression motor due to emissions with the pistons sitting about 1/8" down in the bore ay the top of the stroke, but had good torque. It responded well to hot rodding, especially if you went with higher compression pistons. Some prefer the 400 block for stroker motors as they feel there may be less flex in the shorter block.
