Message: Same way you can pull 500 hp out of any decent 4 banger loads of cash... Something to keep in mind is the technology that is out today. Variable valve timing direct injection etc. Put that on any domestic truck add a few serious internal mods and you would pump out an insane amount of hp as well.

Message: It all comes down to airflow. Running 14 psi on a 2.5 would be the same airflow moved by a naturally aspirated 5.0 liter engine (assuming 100% volumetric efficiency), and 500hp from a, say 318, in naturally-aspirated form isn't beyond imagination, though it would be a bit fussy (400hp with a carb and 35 year-old head designs). Electronic controls and injection tame the more radical nature of high-hp applications, and a small, boosted engine can make massive power, but drive like granny's car. It's the pressurized boost that makes the difference. Imagine a 318 at 14psi. That's just over 10 liters of displacement! The top-fuelers are making an estimated 8,000!!! horses from 500 cubes. The nitro-methane is powerful, but it's the boost that gets it done.
Also, what they have done isn't so impressive when you go back a few years to a little ole car Dodge called the M4S, and which starred in a movie called, "The Wraith." That car was completed in 1984, and had a twin-turbo 2.2 that made 400hp.

This was also the car Mopar used to showcase the multi-hue production car painting process they'd developed.

Message: Start here. This site will explain everything so it is easy to see that HP is a product of airflow volume. (Among other things...)

Message: i dont know, i cant hear it because of the leaking exhaust from the cutout
it didnt sound bad with the old V-6
but it didnt sound like a v-8 either
it sounds descent, its all rusted to crap now, ther ei sa big hole rusted in one of the elbows and the piped themselves are getting rusty
its the one where the tips are the mufflers in kind of a louvered design
but asside from all the leaks i think it sounds pretty good
