I have a 96 Dak with the 5.2L in it. I just put a performance drive pulley set on it. I was wondering if anyone knows who carry's the water pumps without the factory pulley on it. I know in the later v8 and v6 engines they did away with the bolt on pulley. This is my third Dak and I bought this truck with 70,000 miles on it, with the factory bolt on water pump pulley. I had the three piece set. my first Dak was a 98 with the 3.9L and I only put the crank pulley on it, my second Dak was a 03 Dak R/T and I couldn't use the set at all. Well now I can use all three and I like the performance I'm getting out of it. So when the waterpump takes a dump I don't want to go back to the factory pulley. So if anyone knows what company carry's the water pump without the pully (if there is one) I would be gratefull. Thanks for any info!!!

All the ones i looked at for my 94 were pressed on pulleys and i had already ordered the power pulleys,but it just so happened that the guy next door to my shop was doing the water-pump on his late 90s Dodge Ram and his old pump was a bolt on pulley so i used his old pulley ring,so you might check out a "Ram" water-pump to see if it comes with the bolt on ring to hold the pulley.....then press it off and press it back on your existing water pump,thats what i did.cause i could only find the press on ones for Dakotas.

Check out the 97 5.2 pump. Thats what I have and its a bolt on pully. I can't imagine that the 96 pump is any different than the 97 one.

Thanks Bucket and crow318 for the info. I contacted summit racing and they don't carry a pump without the pulley for all magnum engines. That blows, but nothing can do about it. Thanks again guy's!!

Try a wrecking yard,if you own a dakota then you are aware that nothing is easy,and the simplest part is brutal to find but we dont quit that easy,do enough searching and make it happen.

I'll give that a try Bucket. Trust me I know it's hard to find parts for these older Dak's. Alot of the performance parts you can't even get through Mopar anymore either, which is B.S. Well even so on the newer Dak's too. Thank's again talk at ya later!
