 Subject: Jet chips

I have been looking at buying a Jet chip for awhile now, and to be honest I am a bit skeptical about buying one. I just have a few of questions. Do the chips actually work, and if I get one where do I install it? And lastly which chip would I need, stage 1 or 2? I have made a few mods to my 96 3.9 automatic. I put on a K&N air intake, as well as a high flow cat and flowmaster 40 series muffler. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just bought a jet stage ii last friday for my 05 Dakota 4.7l, i got my tracking # yesterday saying i get it this coming up monday,.. Right now i have a full tank of 87 octant in my truck and as little as i drive it,.. it might be a few before i can install it.
If i can keep this thread in mind when i get it going i'll post a reply to it..

for $305.00 I got a superchip i can tell you that helps a lot I thinj they wanted 339 for a jet for my ride.

Well, Josh what exactly did it do? Help with mpg? Increase low end torque? Or increase HP?
And where the heck do you install it?

Well...........
I've reliably dynoed, before and after with my SC's tuner, on different gas and the different settings.
NOn SC's- 218 RWHP, ~ 288RWTQ
87 oct- add 4 HP and TQ
tr towing on 93- add 6 and 6 to to the non SC's
perf on 93- add 8 to SC'S, for a total of 227 RWHP, and 300 RWTQ.
Years ago, these were all posted on this site.
this was dynoed the day I drive it, no short belts, etc.
That's right, only 8 max hp/TQ gain.
Others, auto's have dynoed 13max, BUT, their max was less than my non SC's run!
My ride:
01 4.7, TRUE 5 speed (manual), QC, SLT, yadda, yadda
motor: HO cams and HO intake; homebrew 'true' CAI with K&N filter
NO third cat
NO belt driven clutch/fan.

Iam sorry they were asking 239 for a jet I misprinted that the superchip was more you just plug it into your Diagnostic port do what it tells you on comp screen unplug put back in box.SIMPLE.
