Message: I'd like to see, or hear, the dynomometer report somebody did that also showed horsepower and torque at the RPM we usually drive at; in my case 2,000 RPM.
With that information would you not be able to calculate performance with larger diameter tires? ie. use larger tires at the same speed=better MPG?

Message: There is no connection between what you get on a dyno and MPG. Larger tires effectively lower your gear ratio. For the most part larger diameter tires will give you better gas mileage on the highway but it may reduce your mileage in city driving.

Message: I doubt you are going to find anyone with a dyno reading under 2,000 rpm. But my truck takes 13.5hp to continue at 60mph acording to the dyno chart.

Message: Larger tires will also effectively raise your gear ratio; not lower it. Some of us with the 4.7 have actually found (contrary to popular wisdom) that going to a lower gear ratio has meant a gain in milage. This can depend at least as much on how efficient your motor is a certain rpm as how much power it makes at that rpm.

I was referring to numerically.
"Some of us with the 4.7 have actually found (contrary to popular wisdom) that going to a lower gear ratio has meant a gain in milage."
The clarification is good because not all people drive in the city or on the highway. Different driving conditions dictate different ratios. There is no gearing that gives better mileage under all conditions.

My engine now has over 105,000 miles, and would still pull these #'s, It had 80,000 when I dynoed.
