you dont need a shorter driveshaft, but it will mess with the pinion angle of the rear end. with the pinion angle being off this can lead to vibrations and premature wear of the U-joints.

Use lowering blocks with a slant for pinion angle correction. Chassis Tech makes an extruded alloy version that are tough and work well.

I did a 2/4 drop using Western Chassis shackle mounts and hangers. It drops the rear springs two inches in the front and two in the rear. This seems to keep the pinion at approximately the same angle. Lots of hard launches and no problems.

I already have DJM control arms in the front and schackles and hangers in the rear. All I need are the angled 2" blocks for the rear.
