2002 R/T the chevy v8 has more power to begin with therefore should have more power in the end.
I would still take my 318 over those piston slappin chevys!

2 days ago my friend gave me a ride in his 2005 sierra reg cab
with the 4.8 auto yeah its raised with 35s and a flowmaster but
still that thing is so slow
he raced my other friends 06 titan and boy did he get raped, the
titan even gave him a 2 second head start and blew by the '05 reg
cab 4.8 like it was standing still. i was even in the 4.8 and i
know he was floored, i really thought they had more chicken
and that he would win... was very surprised
i'd would put money on the fact that i can either hang with the
4.8 reg cab or beat him...
I really doubt that motor puts out 285 horses (or whatever it is)
... or it just really blows at throwin it to the wheels

Message: My 2WD RC Chevy work truck didn't have 35"'s LOL!
It had like 200~300 Lbs of tools and parts in it. But that aint sh*t. I was carrying that in my Dakota as well when I raced an UNLOADED 4.8 RC.
The 4.8 truck is fun once you get into the upper RPM's. It's like driving a Honda V-Tec. Kinda fun to feel the sudden change in power once you're going, but not so good for a truck if you need to lug stuff around. And obviously still slower over all at the race track than a 4.7 Dakota.

maan id be willing to bet my dads 2004 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 would beat an RC silvy 4.8
my pops truck can move okay even though its close to 5,000 lbs. if not over

Message: And I am willing to bet it wouldn't (4.7) 230hp and 290tq vs (4.8) 295hp and 305tq and the Silverado is lighter than the Ram. Stock vs Stock the Silverado will beat the Ram but be a good race with the Dakota depending on configuration.

Message: What evidence do you have that a smaller and lighter truck can hang with a bigger and heavier one? I am sorry the 4.7 is not that good my boss has a 06 R/T and I drive it fill-ups and washes and I beat the crap out of it all it mad was a lot of noise but wasn't going anywhere. The 4.8 is tuned differently but makes more power and it's LS based motor which with simple mods would destroy your 4.7.
