If you want your driveline to last, put it in drive and leave it there until you get where you're going. Manual shifting, in and out of neutral, will wear out the trans twice as fast. All that jarring of the drive shaft and diff will wear them out pretty fast, too. And we know DC has enough trouble with the diffs, no sense making it worse.

ryan,

Yea sorry to rag on the autos. I'm sure there's a place for them, just not sure where yet. :-)

I's in the 50-60's here in the a.m., and 70's for highs where I'm at now.

I don't think I'm any better than you, but I suggest stopping the cigs.

yea yea yea. i take it you're from texas. I would imagine it would be warm in the AM there. but here in ohio, even during the summer when its 100 degrees in the daytime, in the morning it can still be like 50. really i only smoke like a half pack a day, its just it takes me at least 3 cigarettes and a full cup of coffee to wake me up. but anyway, its just like everyone else is saying. it's overall just a bad idea, i guess it could be fun, but the fun isnt worth the damage you're doing.
