Message: Does anyone know what the stock MM and flow rate for a 3.9 throttle body is and also for a 318 throttle body? I'm thinking about putting a 318 TB on my 3.9 is this a good idea?

Message: I don't remember the CFM right off hand, but the 3.9 TB was 42mm, and the 5.2 TB was 50mm. I put a V8 TB on mine about a year ago, and it was an easy cheap mod that was well worth it. I noticed a big change in acceleration, lost a "little" in the low end, but gained in the mid to upper end, and gained about 1.5 - 2 MPG. I have read a few people on this site that didn't like the results, but not many. Most were extremely happy.
If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!

Message: The V8 TB is a 50mm, but narrows down to 48mm at the "torque step". The blades are 50mm however. This is why us 5.2 V8 Guys remove the restriction to make it a true 50mm.

Message: Same thing with the V6 TB 42 mm with a 40 mm torque step...that's why us 3.9 V6 guys go to the V8 TB:)

Message: I agree. For the price you pay for the TB, it's definately worth it.

Message: Not quite all v8 TB's are the same, the 4.7 used 65mm and 68mm. Upgraded to a ported 68 in mine.

Message: Thanks again everyone!
Now I'm not sure but wouldn't the smaller torque step increase the velocity of the air thus improving power???
What do you guys think about HELIX style TB spacers?

Message: TB Spacers are useless on MPI engines, can make a slight improvement on TBI or carburated, but still isnt worth the price..
