Message: Definitly a good article. I knew the 4.7L was very close to being a Hemi. Seems the motor is quote "state of the art" in every catagory. The Pistons are the only negative point. I believe with proper oil changes and the use of a good syn. that this wouldn't be a problem as long as you weren't hitting big NOS shots. It looks like the 4.7L and the new 5.7L Hemi have a lot in common and that really excites me. Mayvbe this is where Chrysler finally got the urge to bring the Hemi back.

Message: Just baught a used 2001 4.7L Dakota 4wd, which after much research and comparing to other compact trucks, is by far the nicest all around compact truck and certinily the most powerful...plus the ride and handling when loaded is excellent. Empty, its worthey as a urban truck..So far after a 500 mile road trip, towing a 2200lb boat, and some mild off road runs...I love this mid-sized truck...it has all the power I needed and allot to spare.....plus it does'nt beat you up on the road...and the engine and trasmission combination is really smooth, powerful and refined....Happy in Denver Colorado!
