Message: Sometimes a little more back pressure helps to run better. But more than likely your 02 sensors are now working better and causing better fuel control allowing the engine to perform.

Message: Its a hefty fine to remove a cat for just increased noise. The only way a cat will hurt you is if its old and clogged up. You would smell a really hideous egg odor. If you increase your piping size get a high flow cat to match your pipe. This will eliminate excess restriction while still giving you the scavenging effect(also known as backpressure). That is unless you go to big for your application.
