 Subject: 5.2 doesnt get full throttle!

i had my truck hooked up to a "scan tool" i took the truck out with this plugged in. when i push the gas pedel to the floor i only get 85% throttle. this would explain the truck shifting at 3800rpm under full throttle. my ? is should i try and get any slack out of the throttle leakage or could it be something else?
thanks for any advice, you to could have this problem.

i don't think your problem is mechanical. you could take off the air hat and make sure when you mash the throttle wide open that the butterflies open all the way.
i would check the TPS.

Driver's side of the TB, held on by 2 torqs. Check the voltage at the center pin, should be between .70 to .75 volts. If it is too high, you can slightly rotate the sensor in it's socket to lower it. This will increase the voltage range of the sensor.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

For crying out loud! Who is playing a joke on you? I remember when I was young and some friend would put a block fo wood under my gas pedal. LOL They also would turn the radio on full blast, windshield wipers on, heater - the whold bit - so that when you started your car you would get blasted out of the seat. I think it was more fun when your friends did this. Then at least you would have an explanation for no power when stomping on the gas of your 440 GTX. LOL

lol my friends don't even no how to open the hood on their own car!!! it took me a while to figure out how to work the windshield wipers.
i would kick their ass if they were messing with my 440 GTX lol
