Subject: Hurst Shifter Install NV3500
IP: Logged

Message:
Just completed installing a Hurst Shifter into my 2000 QC 5 speed. Installation is straight foward and took about 1.5 hours.

Shifts are definitely shorter, firmer but a bit notchy. Shift effort is higher.

Noise level is higher. You hear the gear whine as well as the starter on starts. There is more vibration at the shifter. This must be due to the removal of the rubber seal between the t-case and the shift tower. Also the stock shifter has a plastic cap covering the ball that engages the socket in the t-case.

Has anyone adapted the stock rubber base seal to the Hurst shifter? This would mean making tube spacers for the bolts to pass thru. Like the stocker.
