Message: SERIOUSLY, where can I get gas???
Here in N.Y., I can only get the [censored] that has alcohol in it. All the cars I've driven have had ~3 MPG drop when going to the 10% ethanol gas. So is there anyone out there not subject to this "watered down" gas?

Message: You could actually get better mileage !!
At least with certain setups..
The ethanol makes it run a little cooler
which means Less EGR action (if equipped )
or less timing change or whatever other
method the manufacturer used to reduce
emissions ..
Lower emissions and less reliance on
Arab oil.....-less Arab oil = lower prices..

Message: Lower temp does not = lower emissions. Its just the opposite. Thats why we have 195 thermostats stock.
As for mileage. Also not true. The alcohol has less energy per gallon than gasoline and stoic is 14.1 for the 10% mix. Your computer must increase fuel to keep the o2 sensors happy.
Simple - more alcohol = lower mileage.

Message: I was in Michigan and Friday, (friend getting mustange tuned.. made 408 hrs) and i saw that the gas station had this Turbo BLue (or something) 110 octane, right at the pump. Wish i could get a little of that for trackj time. I thought it was funny they jwould sell gas, not street leagl, right at the pump.

the gas is called Torco Blue.I believe i know the gas station you are talking about. i lived in Mi. for 6 yrs and i believe it is off 13mile rd.there is a U-Haul center at the corner. i used to fill my T/A at that station. at that time late 90's it was $2.99/gal when reg.gas was $1.10-$1.30/gal.i thought that was expensive at the time.today i would give my left arm for $2.99/gal Torco Blue.

Message: Just received an e-mail today:
Venezuelan Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government
Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."
The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Also, Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."
Chavez is pushing a socialist (Marxist) revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S., and he is using our moneyto achieve his goal!
The Venezuelan government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.
Take Action.
Please decide that you will NOT be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?
Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government.
Breaking News: Chavez announced this past week (Feb.22nd.) that, effective March 1st 2006, Continental and Delta Airlines could not fly into Venezuela, and that American Airlines flights would be restricted.
I guess it is your choice to buy the grades of fuel you prefer, but I'll continue as I have since it was first introduced, to use Ethanol. It keeps our money in America, reduces our dependence on foreign oil and helps our farmers and the ethanol industry at the same time.

Message: If all you are looking for is high octane like that Blue stuff, most delta sonics around here have a 100+ octane pump. I'm not sure if it has alcohol or not. I'm also not sure of your mods, but from my experience, runing anything higher than 87 in my truck decreases mileage. Also since that gas is about double the price of 87, you would need to double your mileage to pay for the difference.
Anyways, I think unless you want to go extreme and buy a tank for your house and get fuel shipped in, you are wasting your time looking in NY, you'll just have to deal with it.

Message: You could live in the San Francisco Bay Area where we are treated to 50 blends.
Costco gas can come from any refinery, sometimes different ones the same day, it is cheaper and if you have a Costco American Express membership card, you get a percentage refunded.
Putting higher octane in is a waste of time and dinero. I have never had any vehicle rated for 89 octane run better, in fact most get worse mileage.
Remember how you vote affects everything about your vehicle. Polititions mandated Ethinol even though Chevron and other refiners said they could produce gas that caused the same positive results. Remember MTBE? Billions to put it in, Billions to take it out, Billions to clean up. Who do you suppose paid for it all?
