Message: I wanted to get a bit more pep off the line outa my 2001 4.7 4x4 QC. It was suggested to change my gears from 3.55 to 3.90. Will this make a huge difference? Also, is it gonna be uber expensive, cause i'm asumming i gotta do front and back (4x4). Any advice would be cool.
P.S. - with beginner-to-moderate skills, are gears easy to change?

Message: Gears are the way to go. I had a shop install mine. I went with 4:10's. A good shop should charge around $1100.00 for the front and rear including all parts and fluids. Best mog I have done.

Message: Yes, it will make a huge differance. I bought mine with 3.92's it seems like the perfect all around gear.
Rumor has it that Detroit Gear is now making a TruTrack for the Dodge rear. Not yet available for the front. If you do a lot of off roading, you should consider this.
