Subject: torsion bar removal ??? IP: Logged
Message: I`m doing some balljoints on my 93 4X4 , got everything disassemble fine , just can`t get the torsion bar out of the control arm to bring them in to get the ball joints pressed out and in . Am I suppose to show up with the torsion bar attached ? Have to use a small car so I don`t have the room really to do this . Any help is appreciated , thanks

Message: First make marks where everything was so it goes back toegther the same way "ie" the torsion bar to the control arm. Also mark the adjustment bolt on the crossmember. Remove the swivel and anchor from the bar and pull it out. If you need more info the Haynes book has it all laid out for you. I used it and things workedout fine.
