Message: I just wondered if someone has taken some parts out to make their dak lighter? What kind of things could be removed to lighten the dak? Has anyone actually removed say 100 pounds or so from their dak?

Message: drop the spare but leave the tail gate on and down for good traction of the line. cut off the exhaust after the muffler. get rid of the jack and tool stuff for spare tire.

Message: Well, I have a 99 rc r/t so, wouldn't taking out the spare just remove weight from the back, hence worse traction? What about a/c? I don't ever use it. Would that be hard to take out?

Message: theres alot, the ones above, remove rear bumber put on a roll pan=stlye and less weight, depending on what gen you have put a fiberglass front bumber on, fiberglass hood, you are sacraficing strength when ever you lighten a car, so if you hit something or someone hits you think about how much damage will be done with out these bumbers, stock tires are very heavy on truck, i assume you are going for performance if you are getting rid of weight so some performace tires will help, different wheels, brakes. and depending how much you car about the interior of your truck, loose the the panels and the dash cover, if you leave on ly the metal skeleton of the dash in you will lose a good 30 lbs. alot of these things lister are for more of the racer scene but hoped it helps

Message: Thanks for some of the suggestions guys. If the a/c is taken off will I have to change the belt and pulleys? I don't think I'll ever be able to pull that off intensedak, but nice anyway.

Actually, I am curious why you gutted your truck to such an extent? What are you doing to it? That's as gutted as my Duster. But it came that way.
