Do you ever use your Dak to haul things the Mustang can't?
How much more will you pay for insurance for a sports car versus a truck?

this is for HMMMM im 17 years old i payed cash for my truck and now its seems slow plus you can make a mustang look so much better the only thing i really want a dak for is OFFROAD 2001 silver c/c 4.7 s/c 8in lift, black offroad rims (welds)

i'd have to agree with DEPENDS on this one, I would keep the truck just because you can haul things with it that you can't with a mustang. I know I personally use my truck more than my car plus with the truck I don't have to tote around more than one other person. Another thing to think about is with that supercharger you'll probably be running premium gas, otherwise you get pinging and knocking.

Hey Greg,
I see you are 17 years old. Do yourself a favor and just keep the truck. How much faster do you want to go?
Do you plan on racing at a track or just driving down the street? Cops look for young guys driving fast and a mustang is just making you more visible. Trust me; I had a 1969 GTO when I was 17. I could go the speed limit and always had cops following me just waiting for me to open that thing up. I actually got my only ticket in that thing. I was going (get this) 43 in a 35 and got a ticket. If I was driving my daddy's oldsmobile, I never would have gotten that ticket since there were 3 others cars doing the same speed. I had the sports car, therefore, I got the ticket. Just be careful with whatever you do.

come on Greg you are on a Dakota site asking Dakota owners if they would prefer a fast mustang or a fast Dak. you would have to know most of us would say Dakota. It's your choice and your 17. ask yourself this can i afford the stang or would you prefer to save $$$ for college(if you are going).I had 2 79 2.3l turbo mustangs,but i also had a truck for practicle purposes.

maybe he meant a 390ci w/ C4. What's an R/T hood? If was something special I am going back to the dealer because someone gave me a stock Dakota hood.Does he have a 92 Dak or a 2001 Dak?

Greg, AT 17 you don't know what real problems are. Sorry to talk to you like your daddy but pick a side. Do you like trucks more then cars or cars more than trucks. You'll find out that if you pick the stang you'll miss the truck when that young hottie asks you to help her move or when your best bud needs to pick up that new sled or bike. You'll get more for your money out of the truck. And you won't wrap it aroud a pole, if you get the stang you will crash it. I've been driving trucks for 20 years and seen alote of young guys hurt or die on the side of the road because they thought they could drive fast.

I would keep the dakota and save up for the mustang. Put a 5.2 or 3.9 back in the dakota and use it as a daily driver and take your girlfriend out on the weekend. Or you could talk your mom and/or dad to buy the mustang for themselves and wrench on it for them.
Mustangs have a cool factor to them, but I love dakotas. Especially the 97-2004 dakotas.
