Subject: Brake and ABS light on 98 Dakota
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello. I have a 98 Dakota which recently, the Brake and ABS lights stay on. I don't even use the e-brake. They would usually go off the next time I started the truck, but now they are staying on. Any idea what would be causing this? Maybe a bad sensor?

there have been several posts on here about those exact same symptoms and 99% of the time changing the RWSS(rear wheel speed sensor)located in the center section of the rear diff fixed the problem.

Check your brake lines too - you may have a leak.

I had the same problem with my 98 Dak. Brake and ABS lights on, speedo didn't work below 20 MPH. It was the RWSS on top of the rear diff. It's a factory part from MOPAR you can't get it anywhere else. It cured mine for I believe 40 some odd bucks.
