Message: i have a 95 with a 318, and my tranny gets the slams every now and then. especially in reverse. that cant be good can it? i am nowe haveing problems with the trans and i think its due to the exaust heating the fluid from underneath.

Message: That would make sense mudslinger. Why did dodoge put the exhaust pipe so it is touching the tranny pan?

Message: My 89 Dak V6 auto o/d did that if I drove around town without locking the o/d out. If I parked it nose slightly up, then put it in reverse it would SMASH itself into reverse. I had to put it in neutral first, then reverse to keep it from doing that.
I lost first and second gear one night. Had a warranty job done on it, MEGA BUCKS.
The cure so far, lock out the o/d under 40mph.

Message: Just lock it out below 35 or 40, the engine doesn't werk as hard, AND it may save yer tranny. It appears to be an overheating problem.
