my guess is 175 hp at the wheels 145 or less.
make sure when you dyno it to get the torque as well.

and some mods to slow it down!

Yep 175 at the flywheel. You'll get about 20-25% losses with an automatic, and about 10-15% with a manual, so figure that in as well.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

At the wheels? it would vary depending on what rearend he has toolfan. With a 4.10 i would guess a little more than that. Couldnt tell you for sure though

200+ lb ft torque at the fly wheel? woah hold on a sec. maybe a diesel can pop that much. Torque is all about crank throw. In the chrysler engines its usually quite generous but i dont know if its that generous. Most engines only put out (on average dont quote me) 60-150 at the flywheel. Otherwise if you had a 4.10 with say 200 lb ft of tq at the fly wheel, that would mean in a perfect world 820 FT lbs of torque at the wheels. Remember the gears multiply torque by their ratio. So a 2.00 would double a 3.00 would triple etc.

Fed, what are you on, disco biscuits ? Maybe steroids with that fury. That's a little extreme, just because he's a little low on the flywheel torque. He's right about the rest; ratio is taken into acount on a dyno pull to bring it back to understandable #s.

My V-8 made 184 RWHP and 245 RWTQ on a mustang dyno at 90 some degrees, And it was humid as hell.

Thats around 315 Torque at the crank for my 318.

fed i would take that 820ft lbs of tq hehe

put away the calculator-Satakieli

and when i said 210-235ft lbs tq i meant at the flywheel. which i think is near the amount the 3.9 makes!

Sorry posted signature on 12/12 - 12/13/2005 that messed up FIREFOX screens!

It worked ok in Internet Explorer.

I'M SORRY!! Sincerely TOOLFAN

FYI this is considerably elementray since my specialty is rebuilding and repairing transmissons and drivetrains. Remeber toolfan that torque is transfered through your transmission which is also a torque multiplying device, then through a driveshaft, into a differential and then to the wheels. So even if you lose 10% of your power in a manual you still have you're differential to multiply your flywheel torque. 200+ at the fly wheel? thats a bit extreme. Maybe at the wheels i would believe. Mopar 318 you have it wrong. Your differential is what helps create that torque. so you're fly wheel torque is significantly lower than you think. Granted yes you DO lose power through you're drivetrain. its no where near as much as you think. Its simple physics and leverage at work.

Scroll down to dominant physics on this page and you'll get a better understanding of this.

yes, Satakieli i understand that the trans is a tq adder depending on the gear ratio. now even with feds rear gears being 4.10 his engines tq was not change in the process of changing out his gears to the 4.10s from the 3.55 correct? now we are rating engine tq and not rwtq! the gears will effect how that tq gets to the ground. with his truck having the 4.10s over the 3.55s he gave his engine more leverage correct? i have a ? that you may be able to answer, if the gears are tall in the trans do you gain hp and loose tq? i looked at the page by the way.

Satakieli: Sure.....whatever you say.?.?.?.?.?...

My V-8 made 184 RWHP and 245 RWTQ on a mustang dyno at 90 some degrees, And it was humid as hell.

Thats a 315 Torque at the crank for my 318 and 236 HP at the crank with a 22% drive line loss calculated in.

I could put 4.10 gears in my truck and It would have the same HP and Torque on the dyno as my 3.55 gears. You have your facts all wrong. You dont even have one clue on how a Dynomometer even works. So dont state fake facts and tell me Im wrong.

Anybody reading this post look at the post made by Satakieli. WTF is this guy on.
