Subject: KEYSTONE ram air hoods IP: Logged
Message: are the keystone ramair hoods for a 4.7 functional with the kit (direct ram air) or is there a kit where i don't have to have the airbox on the side of the engine. i like the twin hood but it dosent tell me if the hood for a 4.7 flows direcrly in the box or does it just intake air and blow it over the engine??

Message: you could try writing keystone an email. although i did write them once though about a similar question. i have a K&N FIPK and i wanted to know if the functional twin scoop would work with it or if i would have to get their kit. they said that it should fit my FIPK, but i havent bought it yet. So, i assume that the hood deflects the air to the passenger side near the CPU in the 2003 dakotas. like i said though, might want to just give them a ring to be sure.

Message: i have the keystone hood, but since i have the 3.9L they don't make a ram air box to connect to the hood. The air is vented to the side where my intake is...so I am kinda getting a partial ram air hood "action". It just not a direct connection. But no, the vents are to the intake side not the back. the only thing in the back is 2 small drain holes.
