Subject: Speedometer Calibration IP: Logged
Message: I 1m working on a 1994 V8 4x4. Installing the basic bigger tires, etc... Is this truck designed with any way to recalibrate the speedometer for accuracy with the larger tires? Thanks

Message: There's a speedometer pinion gear located in the transmission that can be replaced once you find out the number of teeth on the pinion gear that you'll need. Not sure if gear location in the transmission is the same as for a 4x2.
Calculating the no. of teeth requires the diameter of the rear tire and the gear ratio and then plugging them into a formula.
