Subject: JUST RAN THE 1/4
IP: Logged

Message:
i had a best of 16.20 with a muffler and tb spacer but i made a Cold Air Intake for the old 318 and just look at the results.

0-60mph was 7.45 vs 8.06 with the air box

0-60ft 2.35secs
0-330ft 6.62secs
1/8 10.15secs slow due to the "Death Flash"
1000ft 13.20secs
1/4m 15.80 @ 87mph

elevation 2800ft @ 55 degrees

That's a hell of an improvement for just a CAI. I'm presuming you had traction problems out of the hole with 60' times like that... but if it helps you feel any better... your 60' times are better than both my R/T and my vette.

the traction was decent for i thought i spun 6ft but went back and had a burnout mark 40ft long.

the intake made a huge difference for what ever reason?? i think the truck with new plugs and plug wires would run better. 152000m and i have put 7000m on her, bet she needs some turn up.

Those are damn good times for a truck with that many miles on it. I was also just reminded that the last time I took the car out, an 02 R/T ran a 15.97. Your times are very good if that is what an R/T runs. If that is the case... I'm gonna be sick.

No sh*t. At 2800 ft alt even. But 55 degrees is some DENSE air.

In the summer here in Phx, I think about 1000 ft alt, I was running mid 16's :(
But Hemi 2WD didn't break into the 15's either!

I will go back again soon. Hope to have gained a few 10th's.

someday i will run at LACR but i will have to be 18 because the parents wouldn't let me.

just the G-tech which is pretty damn accurate. i was going to film it but are camra was in use buy my moms friend.

I'm gonna try and make a ram air set up by remove the fog light and take 3" tubing rigging it up and drilling a hole right below were my filter sets so it will be getting fresh air in sort of a ram air fashion. too hard to explain will post pics.

G-Tec eh??? It makes some difference when you have to hit the gas just right at the staging lights against another driver on a sort of slippery track!

That's my take anyway. Seemed like my truck launched ok on the streets. But at the track, it's different. I never spun the tires so damn much!

Hope to better now with my LSD.

I agree with the G-tech thing. It is a world of difference when you hit the staging of the 1320 and the guy next to you is pumped and ready to jump you off the tree. And for some reason traction out of the hole sucks more at the track than any other stop light I've ever been at.

According to my G-Tech, my 96 LT-4 should be running 12.4... best I've gotten out of her is 13.2 @ 109 with a .010 reaction time and a 2.4 60ft.

"Chris" did you calibrate it on level ground? that is way off but, i bet if i ran my truck at a track it would be between 15.80 and 16.40

"Fed" if i race or run the drag i shift manually at about 4500rpm. if i don't shift manually the truck shifts at 3500rpm under full throttle in drive.

the longest it will hold it in gear is 4000rpm and that's on occasion. the truck shifts super solid and feels like it has a shift kit in it. i think a governor sensor is screw up but my friends dad who does trannys says it all looks fine.

Damn. I bitch when my auto shifts at 5500 on it's own :)

The older autos have a mechanical governor. Sucks because it is INSIDE the tranny towards the rear somewhere and no easy way to modify it.

the only GOOD thing about a Chevy 350/700R4 is the governor pops out behind a cover on the outside, spilling 2 onces of fluid!

I can grind some weight form the governor on oe of them and slap it right back in and test drive. Then do some more tweeking if needed.

I guess, having only MoPar now, I'm GLAD mine's fully electronic! Fukk those stupid detent/downshift cables that NEVER work like you want! I'll probably go full manual on my Duster!

i think there was a slight difference like 6 degrees. the road i first did it on was a slight down hill for the first 330ft and it curve and my friends 135lbs fat a$$ was in the car.

the last run that i posted 15.80 was a flat straight road with just me in the car.

my friend is driving a 71 duster with a 318. they put to big of a cam and now the thing only runs on 6 cylinders but he was still able to beat me in a the 1/8m. his dad just got a 340ci that was running 12s in a dart. so their gonna put that in there. he wants to put a manual in his duster as well.

that's gay Fed you should sell your truck for being govern and get a Chevy which is govern at 100mph j/k

my truck doesn't stop until 117mph

you should try the key trick were you turn the key over like you're trying to start the truck right before you hit the governor and i heard that that will let you go past the governor?
