Message: Has anyone out there ever done an ECU upgrade using "Superchips"? They don't have any dyno data but claim approx. 46 more horsepower.

Message: Don't know about 46 HP! Even on a 5.9, that sounds high. Slight ignition advance can't do that.
But the power is just enought to read on the butt dyno. And for the likes of my 5-45RFE electronic tranny, you get a nice kick in the pants on full throttle shifts too :)

Message: I have a '98 CC 4x4 w/ 318 V8. I've been looking into this as well. I've narrowed it down to the superchips or hypertech. I'm leaning towards the superchips because people here said it produced better results. When I bought the truck back on july 4th, it came with a jet stage 1 chip, which I've heard does next to nothing, and also a flowmaster (i'm pretty sure) since then I've added a round open element air cleaner w/ K&N. I've decided not to do 1.7RRs or headers at this time. Anyone have a preference of either the superchips or hypertech?

Message: 46 hp? Somebody, I think Texas Todd, posted real world results 13-18 h.p. I have had my superchips for 6 months, no regrets. Removal of speed, RPM limiters, recalibration of speedo for tire height, and diagnostic for PCM codes are all pluses as well.

Message: If you do choose the Superchips programmer, the best price I found was through www.tsetruckstuff.com . I paid about $330 for mine. I've been using the 87 program for now but will be switching to the performance program after I install all my new goodies. Been happy with it so far.

Message: On eBay you should look at item number 8014683753. I have bought two from this guy at this price and was very pleased with the sale.
Use the buy it link on the description page, not the eBay "buy it now" button and you get it for $399.99 with $110 rebate and free shipping = $289.99. Pretty sweet!

Message: i think that i am going to save up for a superchip as well. it would definately complement my current mods nicely and it will also remove the deathflash that is on my truck now. i thought for the longest time that i was safe from the deathflash, but they got me. there were no stickers on the hood or radiator support, but i found a small sticker on the pcm that said authorized software update. damnit DC.

Message: Actually the 47 hp and 60 tq improvements are in the lower-mid rev range. Everyone tests Peak hp, but that's not where you drive everyday, you drive in the mid-range. Superchips does do a nice job of eliminating the Torque Management and defintely bumps up the mid-range.
Also, for 2000 and earlier you can buy the Mopar PCM, or get the Superchips. For 2001 and newer, you would need to get it flashed, or buy the Superchips. Either way you will enjoy the gains.

Message: Well when someone said 46HP, they WERE talking about an R/T (5.9). May be slightly diff results than on a 4.7.
I guess the SuperChips does add some down low. As I can't stop from frying my tires in my 5,000 Lb 4X4 QC. I'd hate to think what this would be like in a 2WD RC!
