deerridge, your 4X4 RC weighs 4,000 Lbs?
Must be nice!
It should be under 8 sec already man! Depending in the altitude where you are of course. 5,000+, yeah that will slow you down. 1,000 or so like where i am, you should be pretty quick. Unless the AWD really hurts it.

I too am going to buy part # 3715. That's the most current model. Maybe it'll show up under the Christmas Tree?

My little RC AWL does 60 by the G-Tech in 7.75 with me, 200 lbs of dogs and a pile of tools and guns. You can't spin a wheel with the AWD, it'll flat leap out the hole and the corning is outstanding for a truck. The curb weight Dodge called out was 3950. Love my little truck.

stevedak: I don't trust ebay either for the most part. before I buy the superchips, I already have a jet stage 1 module that came w/ the truck. I managed to get the factory plug off the jet chip, but the jet chip is there and won't budge. I noticed that the clip thing on the top of the plug that holds it on is broken off when they put the module on. My point is, will running superchips with the Jet stage 1 make it ping w/ the 87 performance mode? I don't think so because so many people say the jet chip does next to nothing. any thoughts, opinions, tips?

on another topic, I'm a little pissed off. I walk out from behind my school and I see a landscaping crew blowing leaves down the road from me. I get to my truck and open my door and pine needles fall out. I open my hood and more needles and leaves are literely everywhere: in the K&N filter, on the exhaust manifolds, etc. This is after I get home I notice all of this and also clumps of dirt stuck all around on the body panels and tailgate. I took pictures and am going to have a "chat" with that company or townhouse development that hired them.

Deerridge you can never trust the curb weight rating sticker on a vehicle. I don't know how they come up with that figure but my 02 reg. cab 4.7 auto with a half tank of gas and no occupants weighed 3860 on a calibrated truck scale so your 4X4 has to be well over 4000 lbs.
(BTW Why are you calling it AWD?? Dodge didn't make an AWD. Only a 4wd. There's a big difference).

I got my Superchips from Alamo Performance for $325 shipped.

He is calling it AWD because it is - you are mistaken about Dodge only making 4wd. Mine however is 4wd - available both ways, as well as 2wd.

I could only imagine what my truck would go like with a 1,000 Lb diet!

I emailed Superchips last spring asking when they were coming out with a programmer for the 2004 Dakotas. They sent me an email back and said "Check back with us at the end of summer." I checked their site, and no programmer for the '04 Dakota yet. Anybody know when they might issue one?

Take a look on superchips website under Vehicles Wanted and you'll see that they still need 2004-2005 Dodge 4.7L Trucks (Manual Transmission). Too bad I don't live in Florida. I guess we'll have to wait until they can get ahold of one.

Well with warranty just program it back to stock first.

If you have an AUTO tranny, you will get a nice kick in the pants shift on full throttle.

Rev limiter moved to 6500. Speed limiter moved to at least 140 (I've hit 135 no problem).

Yes. Worth the coin for sure!

plus it can pull diagnostic codes and clear them without unplugging the battery.

Hey Graphite, have you tried your superchips in the tow haul mode? I've never seen anybody mention it. It might change the torque curve down to the work level??

Superchips will adjust shifting and spark advance; to really affect a torque curve would be primarily determined more by your choice of cam. Tow mode should just be less spark advance so it won't knock and maybe different shifting.

Gunner,

Was it part number 3715? (That's the newest model) If it is, that's a great price. The cheapest I found was 349.99.

PS. Is "Gunner" any association with Gunnery Sgt?
