I just sent a letter to someone at sts turbo about the untapped market for them to enter with dakotas. tell me what you think.
I'am wondering, as well as a # of other Dodge Dakota owners I know, if there will be in the near future a remote turbo kit made by your company for these vehicles. Dodge Dakotas are a very popular midsize truck but are not recognized by many perfomance enhancing company's and it would be a good oppurtunity for you to enter a large, untapped market and sell many more products if you decide to create such an application. I'am willing to get a # of other dakota owners to vouche for this if you would like to see proof of the market potential.

they don't make an enough parts for the dak and its one of the best trucks to build up. :(
hopefully they like your well written letter and respond saying they would be happy to make one for your dakota with no change.
i wouldn't mind having a remote turbo just for those times when you want to race a plane or something.

My bro in law (2000 5.2 Ram) has been obsessed with them remote systems by STS turbo's. They say you don't need an intercooler due to the longer tubing back to the intake manifold.
Who knows. I don't know anyone around here with a remote turbo system and I haven't seen any at the track yet.

i think its a fairly new design and just hasn't gotten popular. it is a smart idea as long as there is room to mount it. i bet the turbos life span is longer.
they have them for the hemis and clam to have a increase of 123hp or something, with 8psi.

i would love to have one of those on my truck. i have a 2000 quad cab v6 2wd. just imagine poppin your hood to showoff and people just think that you have a custom cold air intake. what they really dont know is that there is a turbo mounted up to that intake tube. i would be more than happy to let them use my truck for a prototype;).

that Chevy in the tunnel is crazy. 12.00s truck but not just because of the remote turbo.
i bet the dakota would run great with a turbo because they already have the low end and top end is great but turbo would be sweet to have kick in at about 3300rpm. you could pass 3 times as many slow drivers than before. hehe:)

haha ya for that kinda power gains itll be worth it but a 16 year old with a job that barely supports his gas requirements like me may want it a little cheaper but if it comes to that then fuk it id do it.

how are those 4.10s does the truck stay in the power band? did the gas mileage drop cause of the gears, or cause you can't stay off the gas because of them? maybe the gas improved?

oh the 4.10s are beautiful, 1st gear pulls so hard
ill let you know how my gas mileage turned out in the next couple of days when i fill up, probably tomorrow...im pushin about 270 miles on this current tank of gas and i probably have about a gallon left in there
how many miles per tank do you get?
also when does ur 2nd gear run out? mines at like 65 right now, used to be 76-78 hittin the limiter

my truck gets on average 236 on a tank before fill and putting 17gals in /22gal tank. i have driven 50miles on empty still only putting 20gals in it and getting 270miles on the tank.
my truck hits the rev limiter in 2nd gear at about 76mph. I'm not sure for i have never hit it in 2.
the gear looks perfect for it makes it all the way to 65mph in 2nd. i bet you would post some good 60mph times.

dude hello dakota's are cooler than fuking chevys and deserve a remote turbo.
i think they just want to beat us and by making a remote turbo for the dak they wouldn't stand a chance.just my .03
