Just bought this TB about 3 months ago. Really woke up truck. In drive about 40mph when I punch it, it has chirped the tires and pulled alot harder than my stock TB. Paid $230 from Fastman. Will sell for $200 shipped. Reason for selling is I bought an 06 Charger, selling my truck but putting stock TB back on before I sell it. Truck has run a best of 14.7 @ 94.4mph with this TB. I even did a mileage check yesterday and I got 18.25mpg at 70-75mph with my 5.9liter. Email me if interested or have ?'s.

At 18.25 mpg you shouldn't have any trouble selling your RT for about 50% more than most of them go for. Better leave that tb on there because it's working miricles.

Dude, I'm not blowing any smoke up anyone's butt. It's really getting that. I filled up tank all the way. Drove 218 miles at 70-75mph on my way down to Oregon from WA. Put 11.94 gallons of gas in my truck filling up again. Wouldn't take anymore.....did the math and comes up with 18.25mpg. I got headers, Amsoil, roller rockers, and a Jacob's Pro Street ignition that is all working together.

did you do the math on a calculator or in your head? cant believe a 5.9 is getting the same mileage as my 4.7. think you might have done your math wrong. all R/T I hear about MPG is like 11 to 14 at best.

Geez, of course I did the math on a calculator. I did another test again on the way back from Oregon today. It got 18mpg again. So it seems kinda strange that it got this mileage back to back. I get around 15 in town. This was my test procedure. Fill up at gas station next to hwy. Drive the 218 miles, fill the gas tank as full as I could and then divide it by the gallons that went in. Trust me. I'm the 1st one to call a red flag of BS if I ever hear of something that I find impossible. But the numbers don't lie. I was truly impressed too.

I have never noticed any drop in gas mileage for my mods except for the gears, it dropped about .5mpg on the high and city it rose about .5mpg.

Mike, your weight of your vehicle has alot to do with your fast times less the mods than I do. You would easily get at least another 2 tenths quicker down the 1/4 mile. When a slick hooks.........you feel it. The smaller diameter tire helps propel you down the track faster too.

I am looking for a new throttle body for my '97 5.2L
I have the 97-99 parts catalog and it shows a different part # for the 97. The 98-99 5.2L and 5.9L are all the same.

Does anyone know the difference? And should I be looking for a '97 and older model?

The '97 is a pain because it has alot of the 96 and older features, just topped with the newer body style.

Crow318, I'm not 100% sure but I thought all the V-8 Throttle bodies for the Dakotas were all 50mm and the same casting. I could be wrong, but something tells me they are the same. The V-6 I know is different.

Hey, I was looking at doing pretty much the same mods you have Spali. I already have spintech exhaust but i would like to run duals. Do you think that with the pph header this would be good? I hear alot of complaining of putting the M1 intake on and loseing alot of power in lower RPM, what did it do for you? Do you think that the headers throtle body and M1 intake would be a good thing to start out with? Tell me all you can, i have about three months till i can order but i want to know everything.

I have a 2000 RT cc with 48,000mi
Thanx
Jake

Hey Jake, I use to be exactly where you are in mods. Trust me, The PPH Headers really opened up the flow and sounded good to boot. You gain an honest 15-20HP just with those headers. I didn't feel a loss of power with the M-1, more like a gain of harder acceleration. I think alot of people tell how they lost power with the M-1 when they didn't have a free flowing exhaust. That would bottle neck the power. The M-1 really comes alive. The Fastman 52mm TB(which I'm selling now before I sell my truck) really woke up the truck over the stock TB. I can get chirps at 40mph where I couldn't get them before. It's all about combination and getting everything to work together. The BG flash is highly recommended too. I can spin the tires at 20-25mph for 15-20 ft after the Flash. This flash works awesome with the M-1 and shifts are now from 4800rpms to 5400rpms and you feel that extra umph. If you look around alot of guys went with the M-1 intake, I tried porting the beer barrel and nothing compared to the new feel of the M-1. It really pulls now all the way to 5400. The beer barrel ran to about 4,000 and fell on it's face.

Crow318, do you have an EGR system? Not sure when they ended that. Anyhow, if you do have an EGR that is why your tb is different.

What did the 1.7 rockers do for you? Im young and dont know alot, lol as you pro know. Did it give you a better loupe without changeing the cam? Out of these mods what do you think would be best to go with first, know that i would be able to buy more in a couple of weeks? And do you think i should try true duals with the x-pipe? I heard that that will also take from bottom end and add to top end.

Thanx
Jake

I do not have an EGR. As for the throttle body being different, the only thing I have to go on is the part number listed in the book. My family has 4 dakota's. I have a '97 my brothers have '98 and '99, and my dad has a '00. But other than mine they are all the v-6. What I need to do is get a '98 or newer stocker to check against mine.

Although, I guess I could just buy one. If it doesn't fit, all I'm out is shipping. I can sell it for what I paid for it.
