i was in computer class today.
are jeep 4.0 is no sloch. the inline 4.0 makes 90% of its tq at 600rpm. did you take him after 75mph or did the race stop?
you where even with a person in your car and the window was down. holy SH!T i have heard that will take .10 of a second off your time. you where brave in race him with all that against you. lol
i own a 2.2re 5speed toyota pickup and it ran good other than burn 3qts of oil in 3 days. it looked like a hop-up diesel when i took off.:)
thats not good to hear grinding from the rear. i drained my rear end and it was silver fluided that came out. oops

J2, I had no idea Tuscon was 3,000 FT!
I'll have to look at my GPS next time I go down there. I have a friend who lives on the extreme North side. Tangerine and La Canada if that gives you an idea.
Some weekend wyou should come up here and run at SpeedWorld. Firebird even, as that would only be an hour drive.
But Speedworld is up by me and on slow nights you can get like 10 runs easy for your $15 it cost to get in.
After I swap gears, I'll take my truck back and see what happens. A RC 2WD 4.7 with similar mods to me ran one second faster.
I hope to be in the 15's after the gear swap and LSD. Then I'll take all those 2WD Hemi's and Titan's that BARELY beat me last time :)

those titans are faster then the hemis, so i read.
they said the titan was running 15.5.
what does your truck run GraphiteDak?
geese you race to a 120mph the speedo in my dads jeep only reads to a 100mph. the fastest i have every gone in it was 90mph. my dad doesn't drive fast at all and i bet that was the fastest he had ever driven in a long time.

hey graphitedak. i go to phoenix all the time. by dad lives in Goodyear and my sister lives in Chandler. i can go to any track in the area. and the next time you are at SIR, look at the side of the timing tower, it is just above 3000 ft. also at SIR on test n tune nights $20, unlimited runs just to let you know. it was packed on sat. night last time i was there and only got 4 runs. i started racing at 8 pm and last run was at 11pm just to give you an idea. so yeah let me know the next event when i go up there again and we should hook up. talk to you later

Yeah, while i get beat, i still only get beat by a fender, when i race my friend's sn 95 5.0, with 3.73s, cold air, no cats, flows and a shortshifter. i only had a drop in glass pack the last time i ran him. I think some ppl underestimate our trucks.

hahah... i am back, in computers class!
anyways, as for the racing question...just yesterday i raced my
buddies '01 Cherokee Sport 4.0 from a 30 roll ( the same guy as
that thread i started a while back )
we tied up evenly all the way to 75 mph...i was so happy - and i
had one more person in my car with the window rolled down...lol
but he still murders me off the line :/
the same day i raced my friends '94 camry dx 2.2l 5 speed...he
beat me a lot of times and we tied a couple, the weird thing is
that i usually smoke him ( but something went wrong with my
truck just yesterday...)
im getting this extremely loud grinding noise coming from the
rear...i thought it was my exhaust rattliing, i have no idea, my
dad suggested bearings ehhh
So which is retard, "i usually smoke him " or "he beat me alot of times". Stay in school, the world is already full of idiots such as yourself. god you people are stupid.

J2, I grew up in SV. I left there in 91 and moved to Denver. We used to go out on Charleston road and drag race on any given friday or saturday nights. Used to go out to the Moto cross track and party and 4x. And no you probably don't know who I am unless you lived there all your life and even then you probably don't know who I am because of how long I have been gone. BTW it is not a dragway just a 2 lane road in the middle of nowhere on your way to Tombstone, but long before you get to the river.I am sure that knowone goes out there anymore. thanks for the back up haha
And, installin some 4.10s and the standard limited slip that comes with the daks (trac-lok posi) this weekend...thats what that grinding noise was, the spider gears and ring/pinion are all chewed up :/
what caused it was my driveshaft, it was all out of whack and unbalanced...the first thing i tried was balancing the driveshaft, put it in and still made the noise, took off the differential cap and WALLA...
