Message: 1997 Dak v6 clubcab auto and camper shell or canopy. The last tank I checked for mpg at fill up, 18.5 mpg 50% freeway, 50% stop and go city. I was pleasantly surprised. Previously I had been getting 17 for the last 6 0r 7 tankfuls.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: OK, here's the latest update: Sat. PM I dumped a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank and topped it off with fuel. Since then I've driven another 133.8 miles on only 8.1 gal . . . or 16.5 mpg, a 3 mpg improvement!
I think the reason I didn't see results like this right away, that it may take awhile for the ECM to re-tune itself. I suspect that either the plugs were fouled, or that the wires weren't as good as I thought.
Since apparently there's no easy way to test the O2 sensors, I went ahead and ordered up a set from RockAuto.com. I've seen recommendations on some web sites to just change them out every 60k miles or so, so I figured I "was due". I'll provide another update once I've installed them. I'll provide another once I've installed my CAI, and yet another after I've added new tuning via SuperChips.
Many thanks to all of you for your input . . .

Message: I went ahead and changed the O2 sensors on Sunday. 146.2 miles on 9.6 gallons, or 15.23 mpg.
Still, it's better than I was getting origionally. But not as good as I got last week (which I attribute to normal variations). I guess the O2 sensors were OK . . .
Next stop . . . SuperChips tuning . . .

Message: Well I have absolutely no idea what kind of mileage I'm getting now after replacing my plenum and intake gaskets but I think it helped. We'll find out by friday or so. Now I'm driving with my tailgate down just to see if that affects anything.
